Wood Care for Ethereal Wood Art

Wooden Bowls and Plates

Wood bowls and plates have a food safe mineral oil and bee’s wax finish. To keep your bowls and plates looking their best, they will need to be oiled regularly. Time between oiling will vary depending on use and environment. If the bowl or plate looks dry, then it should be oiled. To oil, simply rub a food grade mineral oil into the wood with a clean cloth until the wood bowl or plate soaks up the oil. The wood will regain its luster and darken slightly. Any excess oil can be removed with the cloth. Bowls and plates will last a lifetime, if taken care of.

Sculpture care

Sculptures will need to be waxed regularly or when they look dry. Don't let this intimidate you though. Waxing a sculpture can be done when dusting. Simply use any type of liquid wax, such as Pledge, and spray it on and simply wipe off. The wood will regain its luster and darken slightly. The amount of time between applications will depend on how dry the environment is where the sculpture is kept.
